Summoning Shards

Summoning shards are the mechanism through which new heroes enter the game. They are NFTs that are part of the monster loot table. They are rare, and very difficult to find. Diligent questers may occasionally find a shard. All monsters in Horizon can potentially drop Summoning Shards.

Only Genesis Heroes can find summoning shards. Rift Heroes cannot find summoning shards. When a Genesis hero finds a summoning shard, they can choose to take the shard to the Adventuring Guild and summon a new Rift Hero! If the player decides to consume their Summoning Shard to summon a new hero, the Summoning Shard is burned, and replaced with a newly minted Rift Hero.
